In the late 19th/ early 20th
century, in connection with the evolution of printing technologies, many new
fashion magazines, which used photographs and high-quality reproductions, were
created. The most famous at that time were vogue, Ins style, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Esquire magazines etc...
As you can see the Esquire magazine in 1954, Its a woman on the the front page but is a men's magazine, which simply means women are the genesis of fashion and the male magazine in the 19th century could be a success without involving a woman.
During the
last years of the 19th century it was fashionable for women's hair to be
arranged on the top of the head in a bun and puffed out around the face.
